Welcome aboard, Michael Angelo Camacho!

Introducing Michael Angelo Camacho, Director of Government Affairs and Field Engagement at San Diego ART Matters and the newest member of our volunteer Board of Directors. His talents as a nonprofit professional—including many excellent questions and ideas—were on full display during his first board meeting last month.

Michael is former executive director of The VAPA Foundation. Previously, he worked for the California Arts Council, the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego and Optimum Health Institute. Michael’s resume includes collaborations with Dreams for Change, the YMCA and Kids Included Together.

In 2016, he earned an M.A. in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from the University of San Diego's School of Leadership and Education Sciences.

Michael enjoys the ocean and live performance. He loves to read.
