New board member is tip-top volunteer

A career educator with a passion for community service is the latest addition to our Board of Directors.

Cindy McIntyre of Serra Mesa says she sees the need for future teachers and especially teachers of color.

“I would like to help foster those who want to enter the profession,” Cindy says.

A native of Clairmont, Cindy attended San Diego Unified schools before attending San Diego State University.

Today, Cindy serves on the Ninth District PTA board as Reflections Art Program Chair. From 2007-09, she was President of the San Diego Unified Council of PTAs.

For more than 10 years, Cindy has served on the Serra Mesa Community Council Executive Board.

She donates to the Old Globe and Cygnet theaters, participates in community projects as a member of Surfrider Foundation and I Love a Clean San Diego and is a Guardian Circle blood donor with San Diego Blood Bank.

As a San Diego Education Fund board member, “I hope to receive the satisfaction that I have helped another generation become productive members of our society and community,” she says, “so that they will do the same in the future.”
