Scholar Update: Biniam Ambachew
“Thank you for reaching out. I am happy to inform you that currently, I am working as a cell culture scientist at Bayer Pharmaceutical in Berkeley, CA; which is a fantastic research job that was able to land after multiple rounds of interview and commitment. I work to produce clinical cell therapy products for patients with Parkison's disease, currently the clinical therapy is in phase III clinical trials. I am also actively taking courses through UC Berkeley extension to further my education and actively preparing for the MCAT full time. My ultimate goal is to pursue an MD/MPH at an ivy league medical school such as Stanford or Harvard. I moved my MCAT test date to next month in July 2026 because I want to hit my target score of 520 out of 528. This summer, my number one goal is to crush the MCAT and apply to medical school. Once I take my MCAT, prior to matriculating to medical school for the 1-year gap that I have, I plan on completing my master's in biomedical science at Brown University, the Master of Science in Medical Science is a 1-year master at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.” — Biniam Ambachew
