Congratulations Yvonne Larsen
Yvonne Larsen, SDEF's first Director Emeritus, has been named "Mrs. San Diego" by San Diego civic leaders. Yvonne was cited for her many leadership roles in our community especially the education community. She served as president of the San Diego Unified School District board and the California State Board of Education. She was vice chair of the National Commission on Excellence in Education. She has been chair of the Boards of the Zoological Society of San Diego, Junior League and LEAD San Diego, presided over Rady Children's Hospital Auxiliary and Sharp Healthcare Foundation and active in Achievement Rewards for College Scientists (ARCS). The award has been given for the past 50 years and only three women have received the "Mrs. San Diego".
